The sky was just too bright when I visited the Quari Mission and Convento, part of the Salinas Pueblo Missions National Monument. No matter which angle I looked at the structure, and what exposure settings I used, the image just blasted the eyes. During post processing, I moved every Lightroom adjustment slider but just could not make this a pleasing image. I might have been able to create a high dynamic range image, but I think that would not have looked natural in this case.
Unfortunately, I had other sites to see so I was unable to wait for the light to change. Sometimes you miss the shot…
