This image of Peggy’s Point lighthouse is an example of “you shoot under the conditions you have”.

Peggy’s Cove is located along the scenic route from Lunenburg to Halifax.  The lighthouse there is one of the iconic Nova Scotia photography locations.  I planned to spend several hours there before heading to Halifax.

As you can see, it was nothing but gray skies while we were there.  I tried to brighten this image in post-processing, but it did not take much movement of the Brightness slider before the lighthouse blended into the gray skies.

This would have been a great mirror composition with the addition of blue skies and puffy white clouds.  Alas, that was not to be during our stop.  I ended up with a bland image with no time in our itinerary for another attempt.

Be warned, tour buses start showing up in the parking lot around 0900.  If you want people free images, get there early!
