Devastating Silent Witness To A Tragedy

While not really a photography destination, the Silent Witness Memorial near Gander International Airport is a powerfully moving location. The memorial is a tribute to the 256 lives lost in the Arrow Air crash on 12 December 1985. The vast majority of the passengers were members of the United States Army.

BTW, Gander International Airport is also where all US-bound aircraft were diverted on 11 September, 2001. Operation Yellow Ribbon was quirt a feat by the local population.
