Forgotten Horses in the Desert

During a free weekend during a San Diego business trip, I spent the weekend at Borrego Springs, CA. I am a big fan of Robert Hitchman’s Photograph America newsletter series. Before my trip to San Diego I ordered his Anza-Borrego Desert Landscapes, California newsletter to plan my stay. Also in the area is the Galleta Meadows Estate which has over 130 metal art sculptures.
I did a lot of cleaning to the image above. There was a lot more bird droppings on the horses (indeed, most of the sculptures are covered in bird droppings) and a rope (and its shadow) around the horse on the left.
