Loathsome White Wash Of History

Wall Paintings Across Multiple Generations

Nikon Z6 II, 0.4 sec, f/22, 24mm, ISO 250

While my wife waited in the for The Pancake Shop to open (highly recommended). I went on a quick walkabout and discovered this series of wall paintings. Unfortunately, when I went of Google Earth to confirm the location, it appears that the entire wall has been white-washed.

It was interesting to scroll through time on Google Maps to see the evolution of this wall. From 2007 (the earliest image) to 2022, only the Tom More 10 cent cigar advertisement is visible. From 2023 to 20245, the Coca-Cola and cigar advertisements are visible. I don’t know if the Coca-Cola advertisement was under the cigar advertisement or added over it. In 2025, the entire wall has been white-washed.

Such a shame to lose a neat series of artwork.
