Vulnerable Gifts from The Nest

Nikon D810, 1/50 sec, f/29, 90mm, ISO 160

We have a large wall hanging on the front go our house. Many years ago a pair of birds made a nest behind the hanging. Every year since then, they have built nests, laid eggs, and hatched youngsters. My grandsons love to watch their progress each spring and summer.

We had a big windstorm that shook the wall hanging and all the eggs spilled out of the nest. After I took some pictures, we tried putting the eggs back tin the nest. They parent birds had no interest in teh eggs and flew away to parts unknown.
