On your way to the North Shore of Oahu, be sure to budget time for a stop at the Dole Plantation. There are many photographic opportunities here, to include a pineapple garden maze, a train, and the plantation garden.

I think it is best to stop here on your way to the North Shore, rather than when returning to the Honolulu area. There is much to do on the North Shore, and you do not want to have to worry about getting to the Dole Plantation before closing time.

BTW, the best pineapples in the Islands are the Maui Golds. Everything tastes so much better with a piece of Maui Gold.
