This is the view of Alau Island Seabird Sanctuary from the very dangerous Koki Beach. I think people read the warning sign, look at the surf here, and think it can’t be that bad. And away they go, literally…
I like the repeating patterns, upon repeating patterns, upon repeating patterns in this image. There are repeating lines of rocks, repeating lines of surf, and repeating cloud lines. All of these patterns lead the eye towards that small structure at the top of the island.
