With all of those grand vistas waiting to be photographed, don’t forget to look at your immediate surroundings. This image shows a piece of petrified wood at the entrance to the Verkamp’s Visitor Center.

This visitor center is in Grand Canyon Village which is a nice area to rest up between your sunrise and sunset. There are several places to eat and several hotel lobbies where you can rest your legs and eyes.
