This is Mile Marker Zero for the Hana Highway<\/a>. The serious part of the Hana highway starts at this mile marker. There are many, many, many twists and turns, dozens of one lane bridges, and more photogenic locations than can be explored in a single day. If you are a photographer, you simply cannot make the trip to Hana and back in a single day. Plan to spend at least a full day, and I recommend two full days, around Hana itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One invaluable source of photography locations along the Hana Highway is the Hana Coast<\/a><\/em> issue of the Photograph America Newsletter<\/em> produced by Robert Hitchman. I have used his newsletters on several photography road trips around the United States and Canada, and they never disappoint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
