This looks to be some sort of a laundry chute. I wonder how many residents of the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum saw this as their way out? This was one of my final images from the asylum. By this point I was good and ready to leave this place.

This is the upstairs hallway of the main outbuilding at the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum. These rooms seemed much more livable than the ones in the main building.

This is the inside of a greenhouse at the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum. The interior of the green house is overgrown with vines, moss, and other West Virginia flora.
