Several of our friends went fly fishing during our Montana trip.  For one, this was the first time fly fishing.  Before they all started wading in the river, one of the experienced hands opened his box of flies to explain various design features used to lure fish.

I found the colors, textures, and shapes to be interesting so I decided to grab an image.  I set the box down on the rear gate of a pick-up truck and clicked off a few shots.   I was so taken with these flies I went to the local hardware store and picked up a dozen or so for use in a future project.

The full-sized image taken with my Nikon D-810 has great detail of individual hairs on each lure and the foam inside the case.  If someone wanted too, they could recreate all of these flies by looking at the original image and noting which material was used in each.
