Waiʻānapanapa State Park is one of many reason not to drive to Hana and back in a single day. This park and the beach are worth several hours of your time from a photography standpoint. There are trails thorough the hills, a blow hole, a sea arch, and lava beaches all waiting for your enjoyment. This is a can’t miss location on your multi-day Hana trip.

This is one of the locations listed in Robert Hitchman’s The Hana Coast newsletter. Hitchman’s Photograph America Newsletter is always my first stop when planning a photography road trip.
