Here is a barn at Baile nan Gàidheal (aka Highland Village) in Iona, Nova Scotia. Like Sherbrooke Village, Highland Village is a living history museum. The site celebrates the Gaelic experience in Nova Scotia from the mid 1700’s to the early 1900’s. I have ancestors that immigrated from Nova Scotia to Boston, so visiting Highland Village was part of exploring my roots.
We stopped here after spending a few hours in Baddeck while driving back to Sydney. While much smaller than Sherbrooke Village, Highland Village is well worth a few hours if you are visiting the area.
